How Much Do Vloggers Make?

How Much Do Vloggers Make?

It takes a special kind of person to live a life on the best camera for YouTube Vlogging, and it does require a lot of skills. I’m not sure if I would be able to keep my composure, knowing that there were thousands of people watching me through their screens all over the world at anytime. Then again, being an online personality isn’t for everyone. The most popular vloggers can actually make quite a bit of money doing what they do and some have even been able to quit their day jobs as teachers or graphic designers. If you think you have what it takes then it may be time to see just how much these vloggers are making!

How Much Do Vloggers Make?

1) PewDiePie – $12 million per year

The king of YouTube is none other than Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie. This Swedish gamer has managed to secure the number one spot on YouTube with over 40 million subscribers and 14 billion views! The famous YouTuber is partnered with Maker Studios which provides him with his own network. He also earns revenue from sponsored videos, selling merchandise and through advertising on his channel.

2) Roman Atwood – $5-8 million per year

Roman Atwood

Smile More!!! Roman Atwood prefers to make people laugh instead of cry despite being an Ohio native who lost his father at a young age. His crazy pranks have gained him nearly 10 million subscribers but are they all just fakes? While some have accused the prankster for using actors for certain videos, it wasn’t until he made a prank video revealing that certain kids were actors that we knew the truth. Although Roman has earned over $5 million per year from his channel, he also makes an additional fortune from TV shows and commercials.

3) Rosanna Pansino – $2.5 million per year

Rosanna Pansino

Even though Rosanna Pansino may not be as popular as some other vloggers, she earns five times more than the average YouTuber and has even been able to snag a spot on Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list in 2015. With her baking show “Nerdy Nummies,” she has managed to rack up nearly 7 million subscribers and 3 billion views! This 27-year-old Seattle native has also been able to produce a cookbook and is working with many major brands such as Microsoft, Sony PlayStation, etc.

4) Smosh – $1.5-2 million per year

Smosh may have taken a small pay cut after Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla left their longtime home at Maker Studios but they still earn over $1 million every year from their channel alone! Their comedy sketches have gained them nearly 20 million subscribers in just 10 years. The duo not only uploads videos of themselves playing video games but they have actually developed mobile apps such as “CyberSocial” and recently even opened up an online store where they sell IRL (in real life) products like hoodies, T-shirts, etc.

5) Michelle Phan – $3 million per year

Michelle Phan (1)

Michelle Phan has managed to build an empire which currently brings in over 3 million every year! The beauty guru started out by posting makeup tutorials on YouTube under the username “MyNeonLights” back in 2006. Not only does she have nearly 9 million subscribers but she’s also able to generate money through her website and mobile app where users can download her makeup tutorials for a fee. She was even able to get venture capitalist firm Andreessen Horowitz to invest $100 million into her cosmetic company Ipsy, which generates about $150 million in sales annually!

6) Roman Atwood’s girlfriend – $500 thousand per year

No, Roman Atwood’s girlfriend isn’t cheating on him… at least not that we know of. According to various sources, the prankster has been dating Shayne Topp since late 2014 but he didn’t seem to mention her in his video about “who makes our millions” so she may only be a side fling.

This comedy duo have managed to earn over 3 million every year from their YouTube channel despite being banned from Google Preferred which is a program for advertisers who wish to work with high-quality channels only. However, they still manage to pull in revenue through sponsorships, their morning show “Good Mythical Morning” as well as other videos such as “Epic Rap Battles of History.”

8) DeStorm Power – $1 million per year

DeStorm was able to earn over 1 million every year from his channel even before signing with Maker Studios. What makes him so popular is the fact that he not only uploads funny skits and music videos but also tutorials such as how to beatbox. The YouTube star has been making a living off of the website since 2009 and now at 30 years old, he has managed to amass close to 4 million subscribers! He has also done various projects for TV networks such as MTV and has recently started working on a web series called “Lost in Music” which will be aired sometime next year.

9) Tyler Oakley – $1 million per year

In 2007, this gay vlogger started uploading videos of himself talking about various social issues such as LGBT rights and pop culture on YouTube. As a result, he has been able to amass an impressive 8 million subscribers over the years. He has since then expanded his platforms by starting up a podcast, getting involved with many different brands – from creating a limited-edition clothing line for JCPenny to promoting Oreo cookies on his Twitter account – and even attended the Democratic National Convention! His sociability is what makes him so sought after as he is able to promote not only products but also events through social media. Not bad at all for having just turned 27 last month!

10) The Slow Mo Guys – $1 million per year

Last but not least, we have the Slow Mo Guys! These two British lads are able to earn over 1 million every year thanks to their slow-motion videos. The pair didn’t even expect their channel to be this successful in the first place as they only started it out of boredom before being approached by YouTube later on. Now that’s what you call having an entertaining hobby!

These are just 10 of the many celebrities who are making millions every year from uploading videos on YouTube. Some of them may seem very unlikely but it just goes to show that anyone can potentially use the site to become famous and earn money at the same time! If anything, these people are living proof that once you’re on the internet, there’s no telling just how far you can go!
